All Saints' Church 125th Anniversary Celebration
On November 5, 2011, All Saints' Episcopal Church celebrated its 125th Anniversary with a Solemn Evensong and a celebratory dinner. The officiant and preacher at Evensong was the Rev. Canon John D. Betit, Episcopal Diocese of Long Island Canon to the Ordinary. After the service, parishioners and friends of All Saints' gathered at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a celebratory dinner. Entertainment during the cocktail hour was provided by Dr. James Shepherd; Linda Hassall, French cabaret singer; and Jaewoo Park, saxophonist, who donated their talents to the event. Vivien Gurfein, Tommie Glick and Yvonne Beecham gave a presentation centered on the anniversary theme, “Honoring the Past – Envisioning the Future” that included a Powerpoint presentation by the Rev. Joseph Pae. A souvenir journal containing the history of All Saints', along with good wishes on this special occasion of the 125th anniversary, and remembrances of loved ones was given to all who attended.
